FOUNDERS STORY

The Humanitarian Aid and Rescue Project (HARP) was founded in 2016 by Burke Bryant in direct response to the escalating crisis in South Sudan. As violence surged following the collapse of a fragile peace agreement, Bryant witnessed firsthand the atrocities committed against civilians.

While many organizations delayed action due to security risks, HARP was created to respond immediately—delivering aid directly to those in active conflict zones. What began as an emergency relief effort quickly evolved into a specialized rescue operation focused on saving lives in the world’s most dangerous environments.

Since its founding, HARP has responded to some of the world’s most dangerous crises—from natural disasters to armed conflicts—conducting high-risk extractions that have saved over 17,000 lives.

Recognized by authorities worldwide, HARP expanded its mission in 2020 to combat human trafficking. The team has been instrumental in dismantling trafficking networks and closing smuggling routes used for people and illicit substances.

Despite rapid growth, HARP remains lean and focused, committed to one mission: saving lives where others cannot.

HARP’s team is composed of elite professionals—including military operatives, surgeons, EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, and former government and civilian personnel—all united by a shared commitment to serving those in critical need.

The organization’s work has garnered widespread recognition, with features on major networks such as Fox News, CNN, ABC, NBC, MSNBC, Newsmax, and NPR.

HARP has been honored with the Presidential Lifetime Achievement Award for two consecutive years, along with commendations from military and law enforcement agencies, including recognition from Ukraine for its efforts during the ongoing conflict.

Yet, the most powerful testament to HARP’s mission is the unwavering dedication of its operators—men and women driven by a singular purpose: to save as many lives as possible.
